I have been getting on very well with DIOR’s most recent complexion launches. I even love the new Forever Cushion Powder, which surprised me as I am so not a powder girl! Obviously a liquid product with SPF is much more up my street, so I was super excited.

Before & After Photos

Although this is designed as a primer, I find it also works really well on its own if you just want a bit of hydration, some protection and a little something to improve the look of skin. So I thought it might be useful to share before and afters:

My Review of DIOR Forever Skin Veil SPF 20

I like this new base quite a lot because I have been happily using it alone, and also under a few different foundations. It’s light and sheer, so you can apply a good amount to achieve the SPF20 without it looking or feeling heavy on the skin.

This instantly adds moisture and glow, and if I’m at home, I am really happy with this on its own with a bit of concealer. For summer, I think I’d want it to have a higher SPF, or at least I’d be using it in addition to a separate SPF.

How to Use It

As a primer, it is really enjoyable. Foundation smooths over it effortlessly, and I find I need less of the foundation to achieve the kind of flawlessness I want. I find it makes my foundation look more radiant without being shiny and it improves wear time slightly.

Although it is worth bearing in mind that  I am already pleased with the staying power of my favourite foundations, and I generally tend to skip powder, which would guarantee longer wear time.

The other reason I like it is because it’s really easy to top up during the day. This week, I was wearing the BECCA Lightshifter Dewing Tint and the Trinny BFF Eye, and suddenly became aware of the sun peeping at me through the window.

Incidental sun exposure always makes me panic, and so I popped a layer of the DIOR Forever Skin Veil over the top, purely for its SPF and it blended in beautifully without disturbing anything that was there already. I was impressed, so have been keeping it on my desk for that very job.

I think if you are into primers, you will like this. Also, it’s a great option if you just want a little something, but don’t want to wear makeup. Plus, if you have something that’s a little too matte, this will add in some radiance.

Where to buy it

The primer is £36 and available at Escentual:
