 Summer's back with exciting warm-weather fun! Outdoor activities like kayaking and parasailing are back, and Summer Camp programs invite kids to once again explore, learn and play! Retailers, restaurants, wineries have reopened their doors with safety guidelines. Mission Valley has a brand new hotel and resort filled with cool attractions. And many of San Diego's museums and cultural venues are reopening as well.

Note: Please check each institution's website for Summer Camp registration guidelines in the event camps are not able to continue as planned or adjustments are made based on safety recommendations from the CDC.

Welcomes You Back!
The Living Coast Discovery Center, the nonprofit zoo/aquarium on San Diego Bay in Chula Vista, reopens to the public on Friday, July 3! New Hours: The Living Coast will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday only for this initial phase of reopening. The center will also have limited availability for pre-booked, private tours Monday through Thursday. Semi-private “Meet-n-Greet” animal encounters with one of the Living Coast’s animal ambassadors and a keeper are also available for an additional $5/person. It is strongly recommended (although not required) that guests purchase tickets and/or memberships online before their visits to minimize wait times/contact. Model Railroad Museum,
Set To Reopen July 4!
Climb aboard the San Diego Model Railroad Museum, set to reopen July 4! Looking forward, hop aboard an exciting summer of Virtual Model Railroading Camp in three-day sessions starting June 16-18; June 23-25; June 30, July 1-2; July 7-9; July 14-16; July 21-23 and ending July 28-30. Campers will create a small model railroad layout. Educators will introduce the various steps in creating a model railroad, as campers paint, plaster, lay track and construct a mini-town, complete with buildings, trees, trains and people! Most materials are included in the cost. For San Diego residents, a designated pick-up time for supplies will be provided. For all others, supplies will be mailed to you prior to the start of camp. The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Old Town has reopened! Guests may again book a reservation  at this charming, restored 10-room inn, located in Old Town State Historic Park. The building harkens back to 1829, when it was a one-story adobe structure called Casa de Bandini. Four decades later, a wooden second story was added, along with a distinctive wraparound porch, and the Casa became The Cosmopolitan Hotel. A recent multi-million dollar renovation has returned the building to its Victorian aesthetic, with no TVs and rooms filled with antiques or replicas of days gone by. The Oceanside Morning Farmers Market has reopened as a no-touch market. Operating as an essential service under the County of San Diego's public health order, the socially distanced farmers market offers the community an outdoor and cart-free alternative to traditional grocery shopping in Downtown Oceanside. From 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursdays, MainStreet Oceanside's Farmers Market is now operating in three expanded sections from Ditmar Street to Tremont Street on Pier View Way, with two sections on the east side of North Coast Highway and one section on the west side of Coast Highway.  San Diego Museum of Man Hopes To Reopen Soon!
The San Diego Museum of Man can't wait to reopen! Kids will love exploring the world of monsters and animals this summer at the San Diego Museum of Man in beautiful Balboa Park. The exhibit “Monsters!” looks at everything from legendary unicorns to Godzilla. Visitors may make monsters of their own on a giant magnet wall, stage a play with strange creatures, and explore monster habitats, including caves, the sea and yes, the one under the bed. In “Adventure Kids in Egypt,” kids will learn what it is like to be an archaeologist and work together to discover the connections we have with the ancient Egyptians. They will also enjoy the museum’s exhibit, “Living With Animals,” which takes a closer look at how we live with pets and pests, and how animals sometimes end up on dinner plates. Visitors can step into history and learn about the journey of the Mormon Battalion, which left the sweltering heat of Iowa in 1846, and completed one of the longest infantry marches in American history — about 2,000 miles — to San Diego.
