I am an Uber fan. I've used them for years. I actually have several friends who have become Uber drivers (it's a great way to supplement your income if you need a second or even a first job!). Uber has always been an app on my phone, and since I live close to Chicago, it is something I use A LOT! Here are 10 reasons why you too should be using Uber:
- Holiday parties and alcohol. That Uber fare is going to be wayyyyyyyy cheaper than a DUI. It is too easy to overindulge and Uber will get you home safe.
- Insanely cool drivers. My last driver was a geologist. We had an amazing conversation. I've always had great drivers.
- Parking downtown is insane. Here in Chicago, cheap parking is far, far away. I've parked and Uber'd it more than once to where I was going. That is still cheaper than some of the rates! I used Uber to get downtown the the Chicago Cubs City Parade after winning the World Series.
- You know you have a ride. The one thing I hate about Chicago is that hailing a cab is sometimes impossible. With Uber, I just pull up my app!
- You know what your ride will cost. There is no guessing. The app tells you what your ride will cost.
- The app knows where you are. You can see the car moving. You don't have to worry about your drive taking you 20 miles out of the way to get to your destination (this actually happened in a regular cab with my parents.) I've also been on press trips where the cab took us to bad parts of town and my fellow blogger and I thought literally thought we were going to be dead. (Instead, the cab driver got lost and had to turn around).
- Fare Share. Want to split the cost with your friends? You can without having exact change!
- The cars are often times better than a cab! Seriously! My last ride, the one to the Chicago Cubs Parade — it was a Cadillac. I drive a minivan. It was nice to be driving in style.
- It costs less. Having taken both, i can tell you Uber by far has been cheaper. Plus, they actually show up. The last time I tried to take a cab I had an appointment to have them come and take me to the airport. Guess who didn't show up? When I called, they wouldn't send another cab either!!!!

Uber has finally arrived at our nearest large city. We live rural in the country. The downtown area has grown so much and Uber is helping out with managing those few parking spaces down there. Thanks for the code. We’ll use it when we go shopping.

I love to uber when I need it…like when in LA. LOL It’s definitely cheaper than a taxi.

We have used Uber a couple of times and we liked it. It has been a while since we have used them we need to check them out again! Perfect time to do it over the holiday season!

I’m an Uber fan for a lot of reason. I use them locally here in DC and it makes life easy. I also use them when I travel to Miami and New York.
I haven’t tried Uber yet, but I’ve been really interested in trying it. My friend uses the service regularly and tells me it’s such a convenient option.
I have been using Uber for a very long time. My friend introduced it to me nearly 5 years ago (or maybe a bit less) when I was visiting her! So convenient and great rates!
I love the fact that UBER allows you to use a coupon now!!! I am big on savings and plus it allows people to experience the service.
I have used Uber several times! It’s always been a really good experience and when I have done it, it was cheaper than a taxi.
We don’t have Uber in my area and I wish there is, it would be nice. Tacxu cost here is high.
We always use UBER. it’s the easiest and most convenient way to get around.
So far I haven’t needed to use Uber because I have my own car. It is nice to know it there in case of emergencies though.

We’ve used uber in a few cities that we’ve visited. I wouldn’t travel any other way! All of the drivers have been super nice and the cars were very clean.
We live in a rural community so I have not had a need for Uber, but I need to keep them in mind when I travel.
