A two-run home run from Robert Cruz highlighted a five-run third inning and the Casper Horseheads held on for a 10-6 victory over the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs on Saturday at Mike Lansing Field.
One night after scoring all of their runs in the final two innings in an 7-6 victory, the Horseheads (12-14) jumped on the Sabre Dogs (13-13) early Saturday, scoring seven runs in the first three innings. Casper has now won three games in a row to match its longest winning streak of the season.
Cruz finished 3-for-5 with four RBI to lead the offensive attack while Payton Flynn and Jake Hahn drove in two runs apiece.
Starting pitcher Ryan VanLeeuwen got the win, allowing five hits and two earned runs over five innings.
After finishing their seven-game homestand Sunday against Souris Valley, the Horseheads begin a six-game road swing Tuesday against the Badlands Big Sticks in Dickinson, North Dakota.
