A Comprehensive Valentine’s Day Gift Guide

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NYU chapter.

Valentine’s Day is often a stressful time as we try and find the perfect gift for our significant other. Hopefully, this guide will give you some tips or ideas for what to do for your special somebody regardless of their taste!

1. Lovebookonline.com

This website is a fantastic resource for anyone wanting to make a super-personalized gift. With their easy-to-use software, you can create personalized books to tell “your story” or any other story you might want to convey to your loved one. Look out for coupon codes, too! They always have them.

2. Gift Basket

Can’t find one big thing to give? No problem! Do a gift basket with a bunch of small items that your special someone might appreciate. Candles, hand cream, candy, flowers, even fun school supplies – be creative and come up with a whole array of small but thoughtful gifts to give.

3. Socks or Clothing

Winter is upon us but spring is around the corner! Consider a cute, personalized pair of socks, or even some sort of spring scarf for the upcoming season.

4. Flowers and Chocolate

A classic, but great gift: flowers and chocolate. If you’re looking for nicer chocolates, check out Max Brenner in Union Square or Dean and Deluca in Soho!

5. Jewelry

Also a Valentine’s Day staple, consider a piece of jewelry, like a necklace or bracelet, to show your love and appreciation. For more affordable options, check out companies such as Blush and Bar, BaubleBar, Gorjana, and Alex and Ani!

6. Personalized Stamp

Etsy is a great resource for gifts. If your significant other is a diligent crafter, check out the stationary section of Etsy for stamps–an easy and super-amazing gift! Most sellers send proofs to you, too, to make sure that your stamp is perfect

7. Personalized Cufflinks

A great gift for a SO who enjoys getting dressed up! Amazon and Etsy both have great options for this that are super student-friendly.

8. Cooking Classes

Want to make a gift an experience for the both of you? Check out CocuSocial here in NYC for amazing deals on cooking classes for two. A great way to not only spend time together, but also make memories.

9. Night of Home Cooking

Don’t want to give a tangible gift? No problem. Consider cooking a special meal for your loved one or friends. Find some recipes online or use some family recipes to create an unforgettable night.

10. Coupons

Feeling crafty? Consider making a booklet of coupons to give to your SO with cute things like  “Good for one date night” to make your dates and time together a little more fun.

11. Painting

For those of you who might be a little more creative, try painting or drawing something special for your partner. You can create an unforgettable piece for their dorm or apartment which will be special for years to come.
