WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Wilmington Police Department is investigating after it says two men were injured in two overnight shootings that are believed to be unrelated.

According to the WPD, officers responded to the 1100 block of Campbell St. at approximately 11 p.m. Monday night in response to a shots fired call.

When they arrived at the scene, officers located a 19-year-old man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Just before 1 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded after a ShotSpotter notification that multiple shots were fired in the 500 block of Barclay Hills Drive.

Hospital officials alerted police that a 45-year-old man with a gunshot wound had arrived at NHRMC for treatment.

A witness told police that the victim and the suspect were in an argument when the suspect pulled out a gun and began shooting.

The victim is in stable condition.

Anyone with information on the shootings is asked to contact the WPD at 910-343-3609 or use Text-A-Tip.
