REMER, Minn. — The Cass County sheriff’s office recovered the body of a 76-year-old man Monday on Upper Menton Lake near Remer in north-central Minnesota.

The sheriff’s office received a report of a possible drowning at 6:27 p.m. When deputies and first responders arrived they were able to recover the body of the man. Deputies learned the man was swimming when he went under the water for an extended period of time.

An autopsy was scheduled with the Ramsey County medical examiner’s office. The identity of the victim was being withheld pending notification of family members.
