Summer Nights

Rate this book
An adult summer camp heats up quickly in this simmering romance from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jill Sanders.

Zoey Rowlett knows putting her savings into a run-down summer camp is risky. But River Camp has sentimental value—it’s where she met her best friends and coinvestors. Their plan is to turn the Florida camp into a sexy retreat for wealthy snowbirds looking for love, and if Zoey finds love, too, that would be just fine.

Dylan Rhodes and his brothers are on a secret mission to find their father. He’s absconded with a large sum of money, and Dylan thinks he might be buzzing around this wild new summer camp. Hoping for answers, Dylan takes a job at the camp. But every time he sees Zoey, he forgets what he’s looking for.

Zoey and Dylan have a lot on their plates already, but all they want to do is devour each other. Can Dylan keep his eyes off Zoey’s bikini and stay focused? And can Zoey keep her hands off Dylan long enough to run the camp?

Thanks to author for providing this copy through Netgalley.
Romance story with a lot of twists and suspense. Although the main suspense line isn't developed here, it's first book in series, I think author will be continuing later.
I didn't like main characters at all.
Relationship based on lies isn't good.
Hero was telling half truths, lies all the way. Heroine just kept forgiven him. She tried to play it cool but failed.
Safe read, no cheating, no OP scenes.

2'5 estrellitas
-------------
[Thanks Netgalley for the ebook. This review is my honest opinion but just another opinion, you should read this book and judge it by yourself]
This book is like "The Sisterhood of Traveling Pants" mixed with Latino soap opera "Pasión de gavilanes". A bunch of girls that became friends at their childhood are now the owners of an adult summer camp, where three handsome brothers -with a little secret related to one of the friends- start working. I love light and summertime readings and I thought this was going to be one of them. It is but it didn't hooked me. It starts great but the sexual tension is resolved very quickly and the mistery isn't that much powerful to keep you hooked (and it isn't resolved in this book, by the way, you need to read the next one). Near the end I was reading without interest.
I didn't love the writing style, some parts were too rushed and there was too much told and too little shown (I like to live the book, not that the characters tell me what happened). I found some edition mistakes, btw, but maybe it was an unproof copy.
The characters are likable but you don't get to know them really, they're too plain. And there are too many of them! Zoey and Dylan are lovely together but I didn't feel their connection and their love.
Like I said, it has a great starting point but I lost my interest very quickly, with the lack of sexual tension and some scenes so childish that made my eyes roll (arg, the bitchy ex, so cliche -and a bad one!-).
Overall I was a little disappointed but the book is light and easy to read, and I think I'm going to read the next one hoping the story and the writing get better.

Summer Nights is a great start to Jill Sanders new Wildflowers series. I enjoyed this book. Even though there were definitely secrets between Dylan and Zoey, there was a strong connection between them and I love watching it grow into more. There were some laugh out loud moments throughout and some drama and upset but overall this was a very solid start to a series I look forward to reading more of.

I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

This is a perfect summer read. A reinvented Florida summer camp provides a beautiful background for a story about the Wildflowers, a group of women who became lifelong best friends when they met at summer camp as children. The five Wildflowers are resilient and this first book follows their first efforts to build a business they can all be proud of.

The first story focuses on Zoey. Zoey is the athlete, the tomboy whose difficult childhood has left her unable to trust. Adult Zoey is strong and full of grit and determination. As the oldest sister, she feels responsible for her sister and her mum. I love the way Zoey’s confidence improves as the camp starts to take shape and I love the way she makes Dylan work for her attention.

Dylan is a bit of a mystery. He and his brothers are a bit too good to be true and while we get hints about his identity and his reasons for wanting to work at a summer camp, we don’t know too much about Dylan until the end of the story. Like Zoey, I was slightly wary of Dylan, but I couldn’t help liking him. He’s gorgeous and charming and a worthy leading man.

I love the mix of humour and adventure in this story. The first campers are an interesting bunch and the Wildflowers’ responses to their unexpected activities kept making me laugh. A central mystery unfolds in this first book and I’m guessing it will continue over the series. I love the unlikely mix of women in the Wildflowers and I love the sense of enduring sisterhood they share. The romance between Zoey and Dylan is a relatively small part of the story and I really love the way this book introduces a wonderful mix of characters and relationships that I’m sure will be explored throughout the series. This is a perfect nostalgic summer holiday read and I can imagine it would be best enjoyed in a quiet place on a warm summer evening.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the first book in a new series, and I am already looking forward to the future books being released! Introducing us to the five women from when they first meet at summer camp, then jumping to now, as they start to run the resort for adults, gives us a very intimate view of them all, but leaves plenty to be revealed organically through the story.

Whilst this book concentrates on ex-Olympic athlete, Zoey, we get some interesting insight into each of the "Wildflowers" as they take their roles in the camp. Zoey is immediately attracted to Dylan, one of three brothers who have joined the camp team. She and her sister did not have an easy childhood, thanks to a father who walked away and left them destitute. This has left her very skeptical about love, and not trusting of men - Dylan realises how deep that fear is, and as he starts to fall for her, he has to balance the need to be honest and open with her, and keeping his identity ad reason for being at the camp secret. I think that the writing does this beautifully, and I love that he is true to himself, and commits himself to what he hopes is his future, rather than risking losing Zoey and the chance of love.

The camp residents provide us with some lovely humour, especially the Youngs ;-), some of the staff provide some drama, and when Zoey and Scarlett's mother moves in and clearly has a potential suitor, we even get a hint of at least an HFN in the pipeline.

There is even a mystery that will need solving, and I hope as the stories move forward, we will understand how Leo ties the brothers and the Wildflowers together. There is plenty of potential for more romance at River Camp.

This was actually my first Jill Sanders read and I can't wait to read more from the Wildflowers series. "Summer Nights" kept me engaged and wanting to know more about Dylan and his family. I will say that I was disappointed that the whole mystery behind why Dylan and his brothers were at the summer camp wasn't actually solved in this book. My guess is the story will pick back up with the next book. Even though that was disappointing, the storyline was still one that was enjoyable.

I loved hearing about the Wildflowers and how they came to know each other at summer camp as kids. I loved that they were friends even though they didn't appear to have a lot in common at first and kept in touch over the years.

It's not often that you like all of the secondary characters in a book, but I must say, I really loved the Rhodes brothers and the sisters of the Wildflowers clan. They all brought a unique personality to the table and were each memorable in their own way. That makes me look forward to them pairing up in future books. Now, the couples at the resort were another story. They sort of annoyed me given how brazen they were, but I guess the ladies got a kick out of it after a while.

Dylan and Zoey were really cute together. Yes, they fell for each other pretty quickly and their relationship wasn't initially built on honesty, but they worked through that and gave each other a chance when others around them may have had their doubts. I loved that they were fiercely protective of the other. Zoey certainly surprised me there in a certain dangerous situation.

I'll definitely continue reading the series after this one!

I really enjoyed this book about four childhood friends who reunite to help run an adult yearlong camp! Full of swinging elders, female friendship and new love. This was good on audio and I'm looking forward to the other books in the series featuring the other 'Wildflower' girls.

Enjoyed it - but felt like there was too much focus on the boys trying to find there dad and all the lies that were told were never really addressed in a way that made me feel better about how that was handled. Relationships built on lies are bad y'all!

What a great new series by Jill Sanders. Summer Nights was nice romance that is filled with fun, laughs and suspense. Dylan and Zoey have an immediate attraction. It takes a bit to get through Zoey's wall and earn her trust, but when Dylan gets through sparks fly. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Summer Nights by Jill Sanders
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ was Hot and full of Mystery!

Synopsis- The Wildflowers, as the Call themselves, grew up at summer camp together. Many years pass and the wildflower girls bring their money together to rebuild the camp into a wealthy adult retreat! Zoey, one of the 5 wildflowers, hires 3 brothers to work at the camp. But when Zoey first sees Dylan, one of the brothers, her heart starts to race! Little does Zoey know that Dylan and his brothers are searching the camp for clues to there missing father. Will Dylan be able to keep his eyes off Zoey long enough to find his dad?!

Review- Sexy men, funny scenes, action snippets- what’s not to love?? I really enjoyed this book! I will definitely read the rest of the wildflower books when they are published! The last bit of the book had me on the edge of my seat, i was not expecting a crazy action scene! Zoey and Dylan are so cute together! So very cute!

Summer Nights is the first in a new series of the "Wildflowers", a group of five girls who bonded at summer camp one year. Now, ten years later, they're closer than ever and end up purchasing/inheriting the summer camp, and turning it into a year-round camp for adults, mostly snow birds and retirees, It's a cute premise, and sounded very promising - especially when you throw in three sexy brothers who show up, with some secrets of their own, but under the pretense of wanting jobs.

It was a light, fun read for sure, but it just fell a little flat for me in some ways. I know its fiction but some of the plot points were a bit of a stretch, especially being that the group of girls are now about 20-22 years old, and somehow have hundreds of thousands of dollars to invest in this camp; including building new luxury "cabins", and hiring a celebrity chef. But when they start having suspicions about some of their employees, they keep saying they can't fire them because they'll never be able to find anyone else to replace them. I mean - it's a waitress job at a camp, can't be too hard to fill that position right? Especially when you're loaded enough to hire celebrity chefs.

Beyond that, it bothered me a little that Zoey and Dylan, the two main characters, were hiding things from each other, and seemed to somehow at the same time not trust each other, but yet fall in love? I just feel like their story and their relationship could have been developed deeper. Again - I know this is a romance book and fiction comes into play a lot here - but I just found it hard to connect with the characters or see what they saw in each other, beyond sexual attraction.

Also, sometimes things would be revealed or talked about I thought, but then a couple pages later they're talking about it again like it's the first time? Could just be because this was an early review copy and maybe those slightly discrepancies get caught in the final edit.

Overall, I was slightly disappointed but still enjoyed it for what it was - and I would keep reading the series, if only to see what ends up happening in the end!

Thank you NetGalley for my review copy in exchange for an honest review.

Summer Knights
By: Jill Sanders

📚💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💕📚

Will secrets cause destruction of the heart?

Dylan and Zoey hit it off right away – even though they both are keeping secrets, their chemistry cannot be denied. Their romance is interspersed with the struggles to open the camp, the Rhodes brothers trying to solve the mystery of “where is Dad?” and the hijinx of the couples staying at the camp. There was lots of backstory about the Wildflowers, which lays the foundation for subsequent stories of the remainder of the Wildflowers (and likely the Rhodes Bros too!). Still, there’s lots of Zoey and Dylan time as their relationship develops and they try to find time and space for private time.

I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic thriller must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

Authors Blurb: Zoey Rowlett knows putting her savings into a run-down summer camp is risky.

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars

The characters are well written and but I wish the author had explored the relationships between the Wildflowers a little more. I know that this book is "world-building", but I think the relationships between each of the women is just as important as the building of the camp.

We get to know Zoey, and her feelings of failure after injuring her knee and being unable to play in the Olympics. She knows that her career is over and no amount of complaining will change that. She regrets not being able to live her dream, but watching her friends is almost as good.

As the grand opening of the camp nears, they are still hiring staff so imagine her surprise when three handsome men show up looking for work. She instinctively knows that there is more to the story, but they need help and the back ground check comes back clean.

Dylan is there to find out the truth about his father, where he is and where is the money he took from the bank. Granted, it is his father's money, but that money is used to fund the new growth for investment partnership he is the CEO of. With his father missing, it won't be long before the board elects a new CEO.

Zoey keeps her eye on Dylan and knows that there is more he's not telling, she bides her time. Dylan comes to realized that the Wildflowers don't have any idea of where his father is at.

The secrets the Dylan and his brothers are harboring could wind up damaging any relationship he may have with Zoey.

I tend to like Jill Sanders books and even though I can't say that I hated this book I wont say that I loved it.. See my reason is that this group just seemed like they acted more like teenagers to me than adults. The two main characters romance was based on lies to each other, so even though they were hot for each other that was basically their relationship in a nut shell their attraction because they were lying to each other and Zoey kept forgiving Dylan and I am not a fan of lying..It just does not start of a meaningful relationship good, yes I get that he was trying to do something I get all of that but I just think that he should have fessed up sooner and I get she should have had more of a back bone anyway all of this annoyed me and didn't let me enjoy the book as much. However I might, depending on what else is out there at the time, an read they next book in the series.

Good love story and a mystery!

Zoey Rowlett knows that her dad is dropping her and her younger sister Scarlett for a month at summer camp while her parents work on their marriage but on the first day they met Elle Saunders, Hannah Rodgers and Aubrey and they will become best friends, the Wildflowers.

Zoey Rowlett is working with her best friends to reopen the summer camp where they met as kids as a getaway camp for adults with the whole group pitching in. Zoey met Dylan Rhodes and his brothers when they applied at the camp jobs under false names because they were trying to find their father who had disappeared with a lot of money that the board of directors was expecting to be invested in the company. The only clue they had was a meeting on his calendar with Elle Saunders so they were checking out the camp trying to find him.

Summer Nights has a good love story with Zoey and Dylan falling in love and a bigger question of where their father is.

P.S. I can’t wait for Elle’s story!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is such a great start to this series. The characters are great. Five women who have been friends since they were little girls at camp, decide to open a year-round camp for adults. After all, adults will be easier than a bunch of kids. Right? When Dylan and his brothers come to the camp looking for a job, Zoey is sure they are up to something, but they do need workers. As Dylan searches for his brother, he and Zoey become closer and he knows he can't continue lying to her. Will she understand? Will they find their father?

Count on Jill Sanders to bring in a pocketful of sunshine to balance out life's storms. Summer Nights encompasses more than romance. The heart speaks many languages and wraps the conversation up in one tiny bundle with a big message. The message: "Love makes things happen." It helps us to endure painful secrets, heartbreaking tragedies and build unbreakable bonds that far exceed a blood connection. Dylan and Zoey are only the beginning. Can't wait to see what's next.

This was a really nice and quick read. This was a romance book i can get behind. i came to like the characters and the story that followed was interesting, a bit sour that it left me hanging at the egde. But i liked it so much, espesially the girls's friendship and how they stuck together no matter what. Also, the Costa brothers - i was somewhat suspicious but they grew on me too. I look forward to see what the next installment in the serie has in for me!

This was a cute story. There is a lot going on, from family drama, crazy exwives, missing fathers, fame seekers, and ends with a HFN. I'm assuming this is because the missing father story is going to be in the background of all the stories. Since there was so much going on it was hard to get truly invested as it was distracting. However, great characters and chemistry kept me engrossed.

Sadly, I didn’t read reviews before buying the whole damn series. I’m so disappointed. The characters had no depth. They were shiny on the outside to distract from the emptiness within. I’m hoping the other books in the series gets better. It’s a faint hope.

After reading Closer to You earlier this year and really enjoying it, I have to say this was a disappointment. I thought the whole premise of the series was a little strange - do camps like this even exist? With all the brothers money and connections would they really drop everything to work at the camp? I thought the writing wasn't particularly good - there were so many moments where things didn't make sense, or they had been repeated from earlier and didn't need to be. I didn't feel much of a connection with the characters. The romance was ok.

I love it when a new series is as great as this one. I can't wait to see what happens next at the camp in upcoming stories. Zoey is so laid back, she doesn't even get mad when Dylan tells her the truth of why him and his brothers are at the camp. The trouble that the campers get into is hilarious.
