Participate in In Real Time by answering any or all of these questions designed to capture varied local experiences of 2020 and onwards. Please consider sharing your story; we look forward to hearing from you.

  • Prompt 9: The impact of Covid-19 continues in daily life in 2021, and will be felt long after the entire city is vaccinated and herd immunity is reached. Please consider sharing your story with us, at the year mark and beyond.
  • Prompt 8: On January 6, 2021, an armed pro-Trump mob breached the U.S. Capitol while Congress was in session ratifying the results of the 2020 Presidential election; by 6pm a citywide curfew was in effect. Share your reflections to help paint the picture of the impact of these events on you, your neighborhood, your community, or the region.
  • Prompt 7:  How has your relationship with the city changed since March 2020?
  • Prompt 6: On May 29th Phase 1 of reopening D.C. began. At the same time, protests in response to deadly police brutality towards African Americans erupted across the nation and here in Washington, D.C. In neighborhoods across the city, thousands of activists march and participate in vigils, advocating for specific actions; as of June 10, these protests continue. What do future generations need to know about your experience of this moment?
  • Prompt 5: Tell us about any innovations or changes brought about by the local response to the Covid-19 pandemic that you would like to remain in effect once Washington, D.C. reopens.
  • Prompt 4: Tell us about a neighborhood business that has changed course in response to increasing restrictions on its operations, and/or changing needs in the community.
  • Prompt 3: Have you witnessed particular acts of kindness in your neighborhood during this extraordinary time?
  • Prompt 2: How did you feel walking around your neighborhood following the April 3 recommendation from the CDC that anyone walking outside should wear a cloth covering or mask?
  • Prompt 1: How has your household or community been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic?
