Walterboro police searching for attempted murder suspect after shooting Sunday
COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Walterboro police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a shooting Sunday.
Officers are looking for Jermaine White, who they say witnesses and the shooting victim were able to identify as the suspect in the shooting, according to Walterboro police chief Wade Marvin. Warrants have been issued for White's arrest.
The victim, a 24-year-old man, was shot in the neck Sunday afternoon around 3:45 p.m. in the 100 block of Francis Street and White fled before law enforcement arrived, Marvin said. Colleton County Fire and Rescue officials say the victim was actually shot in the head.
Firefighter-Paramedics treated and stabilized the man before transporting him to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston, McRoy said.
The victim's condition is unknown at this time and the shooting remains under investigation.
