It's definitely not an easy task to develop a great script, as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's director JJ Abrams has admitted that they actually kept changing storylines during the actual filming of Episode 9.
Speaking to New York Times, Abrams discussed the long process of script writing and how they couldn't miss out on adding "better" ideas into the story when they come up with them.

"As we did on Force Awakens, while we're shooting, we're reconsidering things, changing some significant story points going back to ideas that we had loved but put away," Abrams explained. "That process never stopped.
"Some people can say, oh, that sounds like it's crazy," he continued. "But when you have the better idea, it doesn't matter when it is – you have to try it."
But what's even crazier was the director's recent revelation that the actual movie's script almost got leaked when Finn actor John Boyega left his own copy unattended.
"It was given to someone else who then went to sell it on eBay," the director revealed. "And someone at the company said, 'You know, there's a script that looks like it's a legit script that's for sale on eBay'."
Long story short, the script eventually got taken back, with Abrams adding at the time: "With all the security, you have to be careful."
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has a release date of Thursday, December 19 in the UK and Friday, December 20 in the US.
