How to Make a Double Exposure Video

In this tutorial video, Caleb Pike shows us how to make a double exposure video. It's as simple as it is to do it with digital photography, and it can be used for wedding videos, documentaries, road trip vlogs, or just for fun as a profile GIF. 

As with double exposure photography, what you need to be aware are the levels of the scene. Whatever is black or dark will show in the other image or video, and whatever is light will remain white. It's really a lot more simple to understand when you actually shoot some footage to achieve this. You might not get it the first time, but by the second or third time, you'll definitely know what levels you'll need in the shot to achieve the best results. 

He mentions that drone footage works great, and I agree with him from what I've seen in the video, but I think macro photography or footage could also work well. Textures, the ocean, waves breaking, and landscapes will work too. I suppose the second exposure shouldn't be of a manmade object, as hard lines and shapes don't work too well in my opinion, but I'm open to being corrected. In my opinion, nature and natural elements tend to work best. 

Whether you're a video producer or photographer, making a double exposure clip isn't that challenging and won't take a lot of time, and by looking at the video, it seems like a lot of fun.
