Wow! This fall has flown by, how is it already mid November?
We always say that things slow down for us once the summer season has ended yet somehow it hasn't yet. The change in the seasons from summer to fall to winter close behind (yikes, snow tomorrow!!) really hasn't allowed us any down time yet. We've been busy preparing for Old Man Winter and the projects (as always) are never ending here on the farm.
Two special events we are attending/participating in this year:
Thanksgiving Farm Fare this Saturday the 17th from 9 am - 3 pm at Stonewall Farm in Keene, NH. We join many other local vendors and producers for a one stop shopping experience for all your thanksgiving needs and beyond. Look for us OUTSIDE under the carriage barn just before entering the main building. We will have many of our popular items including milk, a wide selection of your favorite cuts of beef and pork including a SPECIAL on our bulk sausage, Sage Breakfast, Hot or Sweet Italian - it goes great with any of your sausage stuffing recipes for your Thanksgiving table. $1.00 OFF per pound. Also will be offering HOT CHOCOLATE by the cup, made with our famous chocolate milk! Hope to see you there.
Plaid Friday - Friday November 23rd, from 2- 6 pm we plan to join with 35 other local businesses in the Monadnock Region to become a Plaid Friday Hub! Show your support for local and independent businesses and wear PLAID. You'll be celebrating the diversity and creativity of local and independent businesses by voting with your dollars by choosing to skip the "black Friday" big box store consumer frenzy. It's also a great way to support Monadnock Buy Local - a network of locally owned businesses, organizations and citizens working to build a stronger local economy and YES, Manning Hill Farm is a member! Anyone wearing plaid at our farm shop can take advantage of our super plaid savings for this one day only!Spend $25, take 5% OFF, $50, take 10%, $75, take 15%, $100, take 20% OFF! And for even more fun from 2-4 pm, we will also have a photo opportunity to pose with Ginger the cow to post pictures decked out in Plaid.
Exciting news: We just extracted a great haul of our own honey! This was our third season in beekeeping and our hives did great finally (or maybe we are becoming better beekeepers?). The honey is in the settling tank and will be bottled by this weekend for sales at Thanksgiving Farm Fare and our farm shop. It's a beautiful dark amber colored crop and tastes great too! Local honey has many beneficial health benefits -great for holiday gift giving.

For all of our Keene Farmers Market customers, our ground meats, beef, pork and sausage, are back stocked at The Monadnock Food Co-op. Look for them in the glass front freezer located at the very end of the meat department.
Egg News; We are in the process of switching out our chicken flocks and have just received 400 new pullets. The good news is we will have plenty of eggs all winter on and beyond, however the bad news is for the next couple of weeks before they start laying we will have a lull in production and will sadly be out of stock. Thanks for your patience during this time.
Our Farm Store Hours have changed slightly but we are OPEN ALL WINTER LONG; Now open all day on Saturdays - Come see us!
