Running between 83-97 miles per day, Dan Lawson is attempting to run the 874 miles that is John O'Groats to Lands End in under nine days.

The GB ultra runner began his attempt at 6am on Monday 13th August 2018, hoping to complete his race by the 22nd, an amazing feat if successful. The current record from Lands End to John O'Groats is held by Andrew Rivett, who completed his run in 9 days 2 hours 26 minutes in July 2001.

Depending on strategy, this could mean running for 12 hours each day at 8min/mile pace!

The route is by no means easy; day 2 will see him skirt the Cairgorms and day 5 tackle the Lake District before he continues his journey South betweem Liverpool and Manchester, passed Birmingham via Hereford, briefly entering Wales and then over the Severn Bridge and continiung down through Taunton, across Bodmin Moor and on to Lands End.
