News & Events

This weekend is a huge one, as Saint Arnold Brewing Company celebrates 25 years with a party, which starts at 3 p.m. Saturday, encompassing the whole brewery complex. The free event includes live music and goods on sale from SHOP LOCAL Market. VIP tickets are also available for $100, and they include an anniversary glass, four beers, a buffet dinner, and birthday cake. Of course, look for the 25th Anniversary Grand Cru on tap—we reviewed it here.

Also, check out our Q&A with Brock Wagner of Saint Arnold, just in time for the brewery's 25th birthday.

Meanwhile, B-52 Brewing is celebrating five years with 5 Years of Fun, happening noon-7 p.m. Saturday at its Conroe brewery and taproom. Tickets are $5 general admission (beer extra), and all-access passes are $40 (including four pours and a commemorative glass). More than 40 beers will be on tap, plus look for local vendors and food trucks.

On June 15, Buffalo Bayou Brewing Company is throwing its Spring Carnival. From 6 to 9 p.m., enjoy more than 30 beers, food from Reveille BBQ, a dunk tank, and more. Tickets are $25-$30.

Beer Releases

Wednesday, July 12, will be a mammoth release day for Ingenious, as the Humble brewery unveils eight cans starting at 4 p.m. Draft dates to come later. The beers include a peanut butter and jam Berliner weiss, an imperial stout conditioned on coffee beans and cacao nibs, and a sequel to a popular New England IPA called Joose Wayne, this one being called The Hop Knight. All beers are collaborations with local businesses and friends.

Karbach will release Coastal Conservation Ale, a witbier with coriander and orange peel, with a party at 5 p.m. June 14. Some proceeds will benefit the conservation group CCA Texas. The free event includes a shrimp boil and live music, plus a silent auction to benefit CCA.

On Saturday, you could score a four-pack of the new Giant Leap from Spindletap, a double IPA at 8 percent ABV. Being released with it is the returning Faded DIPA, also at 8 percent ABV. Opens at 10 a.m

New, as of last weekend, at Holler is Haze Awareness, a 6.6 percent ABV hazy IPA. I've had it; it's a good one!

Sigma is bringing out Intermezzo with Black Currant and Blueberry today. Available on draft and in four packs.

Coming June 14 to Copperhead: Shepherd of Fire, an 11 percent ABV barleywine. Release party starts at 7 p.m. Four-packs available.
