Four Types of People To Add To Your Digital Marketing Team

POST WRITTEN BY
Matei Gavril

Are you satisfied with the results of your digital marketing plan to date? Or are you less than impressed and interested in making some immediate changes?

Before you tear down your strategy and search for new ways to reach your goals, you’ll first want to assess your team.

There’s a good chance you have the right plan in place, but the wrong people. If you find that this holds true, here are four types of people to add to your digital marketing team in the near future:

  1. Professional Writer

In today’s world, a solid all-around content marketing strategy can be the difference between success and failure. If you don’t enjoy the process of crafting high-quality content, it’s time to bring a professional writer into the fold.

With more than half of marketers noting that blog content creation is their number one inbound marketing priority, it may be time to join this group. Doing so means adding the right writers to your team.

Tip: Find a writer who is multi-talented, such as one who also provides ghostwriting services and website translation services, and this will go a long way in saving you money and resources. Finding your writer can take time but once you find the right candidate, it's like striking gold for the company. We live in a digital world with work being done quickly and from different locations, but hiring a writer who is based 10,000 miles away from your office can sometimes be inconvenient. Choose smart, don’t rush. The right writer can change the course of your business in just a few weeks.

  1. Social Media Specialist

Did you know that approximately 70% of Americans use social media? This is a gigantic number that’s likely to grow in the years to come. If you aren’t taking full advantage of social media — including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram — you’re leaving a lot of opportunity on the table.

A social media specialist is just that. These professionals know the ins and outs of using social media to grow a brand, generate leads and connect with a target audience.

Forbes Communications Council is an invitation-only community for executives in successful public relations, media strategy, creative and advertising agencies. Do I qualify?
  1. Digital Marketing Assistant

One of the primary reasons for digital marketing failure is a lack of time. You know what you need to do, but don’t have enough time in the day to make it happen. This is where a digital marketing assistant can help. This type of professional can assist with all the little tasks that can bog you down. These include but are not limited to:

  • Creating content calendars
  • Scheduling social media posts
  • Communicating with other team members
  • Conducting link building outreach

You may be surprised at how much time you can save by hiring a digital marketing assistant. This will free your schedule for other, more important tasks.

  1. Video Production Professional

With 93% of marketers utilizing video, it’s time to devote more resources to this aspect of your digital marketing strategy. There’s only one problem with this: you may not have the experience and expertise to produce high-quality videos.

By consulting with a video production professional, you never have to concern yourself with issues involving lighting, camera equipment or other related details. Instead, the only thing you have to do is guide the content and let the process unfold. If you’re going to get involved with video marketing, you might as well put all your weight behind this effort. When you bring a production professional into the process, it’s much easier to reach your goals.

Even if you’re satisfied with your digital marketing results to date, there’s always room for improvement. By adding one or more of these people to your team (and then measuring their results), it won’t be long before you see an uptick in results.

How do you feel about your digital marketing team? Could you benefit from additional help?
