A formerly stealthy startup, ElevateBio, is finally coming out of the shadows.

Essentially, ElevateBio will be more like an incubator than anything else. It’ll let its own small cell and gene therapy companies use its manufacturing facilities and its lab spaces in Waltham and Cambridge — but unlike a traditional incubator, it will allow a few other companies to pay for the privilege of using its manufacturing services, too.

STAT first reported details about the company’s executive team and its intellectual property in December. The company has existed since 2017, but until now it was in “stealth mode” and the company’s staff and leadership were silent about its operations.
