Here is your Alexandria weather forecast for Friday, June 15 Wochit UPDATE: At 4 p.m., the city of Alexandria issued a boil advisory for the 6800 block of Victoria Drive after repairs to a 2-inch service lateral, reads a release.
Water pressure was lost during the repair process, necessitating the advisory.
Follow-up sampling for 78A Versailles site tested negative but follow-up samples for 5212 Rue Verdun tested positive for E.coli.
Marcotte said the suspected contamination was only found in the testing in the Rue Verdun area.
In an updated release, the city notes bacterial contamination can occur when increased run-off enters the drinking water source (for example, following heavy rains).
Do not drink the water without boiling it first.
Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
The symptoms above are not caused only by organisms in drinking water.
People at increased risk should seek advice from their health care providers about drinking this water.
The City of Alexandria will inform residents when tests show no bacteria and you no longer need to boil your water.
