Boss: The Black Experience in Business The history of business and entrepreneurship lies at the heart of the American story, but often absent are the names and experiences of African Americans who, from the country's earliest days, have embodied the qualities of innovation, risk-taking, and determination to forge a path toward a better life - which is at the heart of the American entrepreneurial spirit. Boss: The Black Experience in Business, by Peabody and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Stanley Nelson, seeks to illuminate, educate, and inform, by examining more than 150 years of African American men and women - from those bound by bondage, to moguls at the top of multi-million dollar empires.

This documentary was very well written and produced. I learned quite a lot from watching it and am inspired. So thankful that the true history of Black Americans in this country is finally coming out and being told to a larger audience.

Inspiring and heart breaking all in one. Through the injustice, outright denial people of all colors, races, cultures have to push on for the sake of those who had the skills and drive but never given opportunity.

I saw this on PBS and am so pleased I can purchase it. As a woman of both African and native American heritage with three grown children I want a copy for each one of them and one for my husband and me! Thank you for making this very important educational history available.

I recorded this a month ago and just watched it last night 9/11/19. Wow! Whomever produced and directed this Black American experience was brilliant and to the point. Never a dull moment. It provide an awesome portrayal of a ongoing struggle our ancestors endured and we will need to endure in order to stay the course so the next generations to come can thrive financially and survive in this country like everyone else. A #1 documentary to purchase and pass on to your children. I bought a couple of copies for the matriarchs in our family to sit with their family to watch and get back to supporting our black businesses like they did in the early 1900. It had a profound impact on me. I woke up re-charged and ready to get more people into homeownership. Im a real estate agent in California and I love helping people get a home when they thought they couldnt. My next step is showing them how to increasing their wealth in Real Estate by using the equity in their homes and 401k to purchasing descent rental properties to rent out to low income people on section 8. We just need to stay the course (slow and steady). Thanks for letting me share my thoughts..
