SwedBio will co-hosting a side-event with in-depth discussion about the future work on Traditional Knowledge in the Post 2020 Global Biodiversity agenda.

Traditional knowledge is a special theme at the 18th session of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues that will be held in NY 22 April – 3 May 2019 This creates a great opportunity to an in depth discussion about the important role of Indigenous peoples and local communities and their knowledge and practices in the protection and sustainable use of biodiversity, in particular as part of the Post2020 Global Biodiversity Framework.

 Participants are welcome to the side-event The Future work on Traditional Knowledge in the Post 2020 Global Biodiversity agenda of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) on Tuesday 23 April, 1:15 – 2.30 pm, Room CR 7 at United Nations Headquarters. SwedBio is convening the event with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity the International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity, and the Indigenous Women Biodiversity Network.
