If you’ve been stashing away items for future purchase on your Amazon Wish List, you may inadvertently be providing gift ideas for complete strangers.

Amazon compiles all of the “most wished for” items from its wish lists and registries into a massive database that users can search by category. The result—which is updated daily—is a treasure trove of gift ideas you can peruse for an upcoming birthday, holiday or special occasion.

Maybe your best friend loves to bake but you know she’s got all the basic supplies, so you head to the “kitchen and dining” section of Amazon’s “most wished for.” That’s where you find these fun silicone baking mats that she never knew she always needed.

Your nephew is turning 3 and you have no idea what three-year-olds like? Go to “toys and games” and then the “preschool” subcategory and be an unexpected hero when you arrive to the party with a pretend housekeeping set.

You must know someone who would love this Groot flower pot. It’s currently ranked number 20 on the “home and kitchen” list, so there are more people out there wishing for this than one might have assumed.

There are dozens of categories (and subcategories), including automotive, books, lawn and garden, electronics, pet supplies, office products and tools.

(And it has to be said: You don’t actually have to purchase these items straight from Amazon. It’s okay if you’re not an Amazon fan; you can still use them for their ideas.)
