Henderson Sears among 142 stores closing in bankruptcy filing

HENDERSON, Nev. (KSNV) — The Sears department store on Warm Springs Road in Henderson will be among the 142 stores closing soon, part of the company's bankruptcy filing.

Sears announced Monday it would file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and close what it called "unprofitable stores near the end of the year."

The Henderson location at 1245 Warm Springs Road is the only Nevada location that will close, according to bankruptcy filings.

In nearby Arizona, five Sears stores will be closing, three in the Phoenix area. California will the the closures of seven K-Marts and 10 Sears.
