In august, we have presented our transformation for the former silk factory in Naro-Fominsk, Russia. During the summer, the construction of the 'Oceaanhuis' has officially started and the construction of 'De Confectiefabriek', 'De Generaal' and the 'Spaardersbad' are also in full swing. And ofcourse, an update of Fenix I doesn't lack in this newsletter. In 2019, the Mei office will move to Fenixdocks. How would you like having your office in Fenix? Read on quickly.

SILK FACTORY NARO-FOMINSK

Great plans for Silk Factory in Russia

Our innovative plan commissioned by Ostov Group has been received very enthusiastic in Russia! The abandoned factory site will be transformed in phases into a lively city center. The program consists of 50.000 m2 mixed-use, which is a novelty in Russia. A series of strategic design interventions will provide new connections.
Beside loft-style apartments, there will be space for shops, culinary, cultural and sport facilities. Mei is now working on the first phase: the transformation of the 'scrutching-building'.

OCEAANHUIS

Start construction Oceaanhuis

The monumental 'Oceaanhuis' at the Westzeedijk in Rotterdam will get a new destination. This former office building will get approximately 180 beautiful lofts. IBB Kondor has started the construction this summer. There is not much to see at the outside of the building yet, but there's a lot to see when you step into the building. The interior is fully stripped and ready for transformation. The picture already shows the original light courts which will be restored, and will let in plenty of daylight. In October, the construction will also become visible on the outside. The original monumental window frames will get very slim new windows.

DE GENERAAL

Glass skin for De Generaal

The transformation of De Generaal is at full speed. After removing the 'old skin' of the existing office building and extending the storey floors, it's time for the glass façade. This will be a fully transparant skin of glass, with approximately 1100 window frames that we developed for this project with Metaglas. The first windows have been placed and we can already say: it's going to look sleek!
