Graveyard closes, but it's spirit lives on...

After two weeks of “last wings you can ever order”, “last night to party with us”, “last 40 oz drank”, and finally,  “join us for our final night”,  Graveyard Tavern has officially closed it’s doors on an era. The doors may have shut, but the spirit lives on!  We’ve been shooting and throwing parties at Graveyard since 2008, when it was Prince Presto and Cristo Disco playing to a couple of people on the dance floor. East Atlanta’s industry and tattoo culture was starting to discover what this place had going on and it was the beginning of what was soon to be a staple in Atlanta nightlife.

I can’t even begin to tell you the amount of memories that have stemmed from this place.  Many of you have shared your memories already, so you don’t need to hear anymore reminiscing from us.  The parties have come and gone, but Graveyard was always changing to cater to Atlanta’s changing crowd.  The biggest and longest running event at Graveyard goes to Down N Durty from Cobra Corps and they could not have done a better sendoff for their last night.  A coffin?! For real???

So what’s next now that Graveyard has closed their doors?  The essence and spirit of the culture that Graveyard, Ohsnapkid, the DJs, and the promoters of the city have built will not die.  It may be buried, but only down to The Basement.  Graveyard Tavern’s owner, Dustin Saboorian, says that, “Our goal is to be open more.  We’re going to be doing some renovations and updates, but nothing too drastic.”  What does that mean for the events at Graveyard now that doors have closed?  Let’s get to that.

BALL.

Ricky Raw’s 3rd Friday didn’t bounce too far away. You can still find them in the village at The Union moving forward. Ricky says, “By 11pm, every 3rd Friday, Ball will have that same underground rap music vibe as always. We will be expanding the brand to include an "Originals Only" showcase early in the evening from 9pm-11pm that will host 100% original sets from producers and vocal artist. Also, since the Union EAV has a back room, we will curate some weird bass music line ups to include everything from Techno, Drum & Bass and everything in between.” >>> RSVP to the Event

Down N Durty

Cobra Corps may have ended their relationship with Graveyard, but they will not be going too far. You’ll find DND in the arms of Graveyard’s younger and more outgoing sister, The Basement, on 4th Saturdays now.
