11 Earth Day Events Happening Around Puget Sound

MERCER ISLAND, WA - The forecast for Earth Day 2018 in Puget Sound: 60 degrees and sunny. So take advantage of the nice weather and attend one of these Earth Day celebrations.

Of note: one of the founders of Earth Day, Denis Hayes, is hosting an event at his ultra-green building in Seattle. Hayes organized the first Earth Day in 1970 and it was celebrted at colleges across the U.S.

In honor of Earth Day, Mary Lee & Associates is hosting a FREE recycling event on Sunday, April 22nd. Items for recycling including secure paper shredding by Pacific Northwest Shredding, electronics recycling (including TV's, laptops and other electronics) and metal and household goods by Uptekk Recycling.

Walk with us on Earth Day and show your support for the responsible use & conservation of the former Weyerhaeuser Campus. Participation is by donation and parking is available at the Christian Faith Center in Federal Way. Check-in begins at 1:30 pm on Sunday, April 22 at the corner of South 336th Street & 20th Avenue South. Walk participants receive free admission for the day at the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden.
