11 Earth Day Events Happening Around Puget Sound

Get out in the sun this Sunday and celebrate Mother Nature with parades, trail work, and more.

MERCER ISLAND, WA - The forecast for Earth Day 2018 in Puget Sound: 60 degrees and sunny. So take advantage of the nice weather and attend one of these Earth Day celebrations.

Of note: one of the founders of Earth Day, Denis Hayes, is hosting an event at his ultra-green building in Seattle. Hayes organized the first Earth Day in 1970 and it was celebrted at colleges across the U.S.

In honor of Earth Day, Mary Lee & Associates is hosting a FREE recycling event on Sunday, April 22nd. Edmonds Lutheran Church will host 1 Green Planet in our parking lot from 10:00 am till 3:00 pm, where you can recycle broken or unwanted electronics and all kinds of scrap metal. From rusty bicycles to broken refrigerators, 1 Green Planet will save all of your unwanted scrap and electronics from the landfill!

Walk with us on Earth Day and show your support for the responsible use & conservation of the former Weyerhaeuser Campus. Participation is by donation and parking is available at the Christian Faith Center in Federal Way. Check-in begins at 1:30 pm on Sunday, April 22 at the corner of South 336th Street & 20th Avenue South. Walk participants receive free admission for the day at the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden.
