Milo Yiannopoulos Chased From NYC Bar With 'Nazi Scum' Chant

Milo Yiannopoulos

It appears there are many places where the gay right-wing provocateur is not welcome.

A guy walks into a bar -- and because he's alt-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos, the other patrons start chanting, "Nazi scum, get out!"

The incident happened Sunday at an as-yet unidentified bar in Manhattan. Yiannopoulos and a friend, identified by The Wrap and other sources as journalist Chadwick Moore, walked right into a gathering of the New York City chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America, and members of the group made clear they weren't welcome. The exchange was captured on video (see below) and shared widely on social media.

Yiannopoulos wrote on Facebook that he feared being "hurt or killed" in the bar, although it doesn't appear that he was physically threatened. "It's now impossible for me to safely go out for lunch in most major cities in America because I supported Trump at the last election and don't like feminism," he wrote.

Annie Shields, cochair of the Bronx chapter of the Democratic Socialists and an editor at The Nation, tweeted that the group paid for the pair's beers so they could leave quickly, then sang "Solidarily Forever."

For the record, Yiannopoulos says he is not a Nazi or any other type of white supremacist, and he is married to a black man. But in 2016 he was permanently banned from Twitter after many blamed him for inciting his followers to submit racist tweets about actress Leslie Jones.

And the backlash against Yiannopoulos has kept piling up. He resigned as a senior editor at the right-wing site Breitbart last year after it was discovered he had given an interview in which he appeared to endorse sex between men and boys. That also led to his loss of a book contract with Simon & Schuster; he ended up self-publishing his book Dangerous. Then he lost a gig as a contributor to The Daily Caller, a conservative website, after submitting his first piece -- a pro-Kevin Spacey column.
