Member Profile: Clara Okoro
Clara Okoro is a media and brand consultant based in Lagos, Nigeria. A driven entrepreneur, Clara left an opportunity to work with the American oil company Chevron after graduation to pursue her vision of turning creative intelligence into a powerhouse of economic advancement. She is the chief operating officer of Brandworld Media through which she is the executive producer and anchorwoman of “Brandworld TV Show,” the first brand-focused TV show in Africa, publishes ICE Magazine which trails the emotional journey of how brands connect with young people, and is the creative director of special projects. Clara is also the founder and creative lead of My Beautiful Africa, a fashion, travel, and lifestyle brand that celebrates Africa and Afropolitan lifestyles while also changing the negative narratives about the Continent. Clara is currently working on some exciting projects related to tourism, youth empowerment, and creative enterprise. Clara has a BA degree in Education from the University of Lagos and has been recognized with many awards over the years, including Great Women of the 21st Century and Around the World in 80 Brands.
Clara joined the Women’s Creative Leadership Network to develop her leadership skills and to share her experiences with other members of the community. She believes creativity is a powerful tool to engender innovation and growth in communities because people thinking creatively and expressing themselves in their own unique way leads to a better quality of life and a better world. Her personal philosophy is that, “creativity is currency.”
Clara has a great sense of humor and loves to have a good laugh over jokes. She also loves to travel and to learn about different cultures and to explore historical museums and sites.
