Over the years we have been working with my son on his articulation delay. For our family, this is one of our most frustrating challenges because we don’t have any answers as to why he has a speech delay. It’s hard to see your child struggle and not know the underlying cause. While I am not a speech therapist I have found these articulation apps through the speech therapists that we have worked with while trying to help my son. We have had a lot of fun with these apps!
These articulation apps are not intended to replace speech therapy. Instead, they are a playful way to work on your child’s articulation skills at home or in therapy under the supervision of a trained Speech Therapist.
All of these apps are available on iOS. I apologize for those of you on Android — we are an Apple family and I searched high and low with no success on finding these on Android. If you are an Android user and know of any good apps please leave a comment to help others, because Android is just a platform I am not much help on.
That said, if you are looking for a device for a special needs child I would highly suggest going with an Apple product. We have been using apps with our children for ten years now and Apple has far more available in the special education niche.
