KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Royals fans will have a new way to enjoy a game this season. The team has launched a season ticket package and corresponding fan section called “The Keep.”

To become a member of The Keep, fans will purchase the package which includes tickets to 15 games, mostly on weekends and against popular opponents. The tickets are in section 203 and cost $500.

The Royals want members of The Keep to help define this fan-oriented initiative during its inaugural year. The goal is for fans to mold this into something they enjoy with their own chants, traditions and experiences.

“We want this section to be about representing your Royals fandom and bringing that enthusiasm and that energy and that electricity to each and every game they're at this year,” said Amanda Turk, the Royals director of publicity.

Turk explained that a keep is the strongest part of a castle. The Royals want these fans to be the team's foundation.

When joining The Keep, members will be entitled to a tailgate before each game with free beer and receive a box of “keepsakes.” The items are made in Kansas City and are only available to members of The Keep, not sold in stores. They include a Charlie Hustle shirt, a cap, a pair of socks, sunglasses, and more.

Ticket packages are still available. The first game as part of The Keep program is Saturday, April 13.
