DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Yes, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is in Daytona with Danica Patrick.

Rodgers, who was expected to be in attendance at Sunday’s Daytona 500 to cheer on Patrick, sat atop her team’s pit box on Thursday night for the second Duel qualifying race. Patrick finished the race in 14th and will start her final Daytona 500 in 30th.

Patrick revealed she was dating Rodgers in January, approximately a month after it became public that she had ended her relationship with fellow driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

After climbing down from the pit box after the race, Rodgers declined to answer questions from a group of reporters assembled behind Patrick’s pit stall. It’s not entirely surprising that Rodgers didn’t want to make himself the story. When celebrating on the court after attending Wisconsin basketball’s Elite Eight victory in 2015, he didn’t do any interviews.

Rodgers’ week has been busy. He played last weekend in the Pro-Am at Pebble Beach and is now across the country on the other coast.

Sunday’s race is Patrick’s final NASCAR start. She’ll drive in the Indianapolis 500 in May before retiring from racing.
