Merry at The Meadows Holiday Boat Tour

4:45 – 5:00 PM | The Meadows Center

A glass bottom boat tour will be taking its guests on a 45 minute tour at sunset to see the holiday lights along Spring Lake. With cookies and hot drinks available for guests, the holiday spirit should be high as the boat cruises by twinkling lights and festive displays. Tickets can be purchased here and guests of all ages are welcome to come along for the holiday ride.

 

Holidaze at the Drive In

6:15 PM | Blue Starlite Drive In

Breaking in their brand new enchanted forest screening area, Blue Starlite drive is hosting a series of festive films throughout the month of December. This Friday, the big screen will be playing the all time Christmas favorite, Elf starring Will Ferrell. Before the movie begins, a Christmas light walk through and pre-show treats will be available for movie attendees.

 

Birch Buddies Wine Bottle Painting

7:00 – 9:30 PM | Cajun Pizza Place

Welcoming painters of all levels, Paint Nite is presenting a winter-themed wine bottle painting party. The class will be lead by a head artist, but no need to worry about painting a flawless masterpiece, just bring your friends and creativity to make this night perfect! At the end of the class, fairy lights can be placed inside your bottle to add one last finishing touch.

Flannel and Frost Chocolate Tasting

11:00 AM – 6:00 PM | Delysia Chocolatier Culinary Center

A completely free and open to the public chocolate tasting event will be going on all day on Saturday, Dec. 15. Located at the Delysia Chocolatier Culinary Center, those with the ultimate sweet tooth are invited to walk through the kitchen and try every flavor from snickerdoodle truffle to candy cane swirl. Pick out your favorite treat and support the culinary center!

 

Winter Cookie Decorating Class

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM | Baked By Amy’s

Reminiscing on the smell of Grandma’s warm holiday cookies, now you can learn how to make your own the holiday dessert. From baking techniques to colorful decorating skills, you can practice making cookies at Baked By Amy’s. Whether you want to snack while you work or take them back home, this cookie decorating class is here to help perfect holiday baking just as the holidays begin.

 

The Nutcracker

7:30 PM | Long Center for The Performing Arts

Hosted by Ballet Austin, the 56th annual production of The Nutcracker has made its way back for the month of December. With hundreds of dancers, extravagant costumes, detailed stage set ups, and a live performance from The Austin Symphony Orchestra, The Nutcracker will make for an incredible night filled with holiday spirit and wonderful memories. Yuletide Yoga + Holiday Market

10:30 AM | Carpenter Hotel

Although it is one of the most wonderful times of the year, it is also the busiest! In order to take a few relaxing moments for yourself during this holiday season, stop by the Carpenter Hotel for a morning of yoga and local, natural based shopping at the holiday market. The yoga class will be taking place in an outdoor space with fresh air and no distractions. And after the session is over, guests can receive a massage, grab some snacks, and do some relaxing shopping without the holiday shopper chaos.

 

On the Record

11:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Native Hostel Austin

On the Record is an Austin-based music market and panel that allows for music lovers, leaders, and artists to discuss the power of music. Industry professionals and brands will be on the panel to talk about all things music-related. Live performances and a music market will be available for guests. Companies such as SXSW, LIVE A GREAT STORY, and TuneCore will be sharing insight on the music industry and even hosting some giveaways!

 

A Christmas Carol

7:30 PM | ZACH Theatre

ZACH Theatre is a huge part of Austin’s art scene and right in time of celebrating the holidays, ZACH’s is putting on their own production of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Adding upbeat tunes and modern themes to the classic musical, this christmas carol will be one that’s different from the rest. ZACH’s rendition of A Christmas Carol will give a special twist to the story of the Cratchit family bringing back the Christmas spirit to Ebenezer Scrooge.
