Promoting Health and Safety through Child Care Health Consultation

Sharpening Your Observation Skills

Observing health and safety in early care and education (ECE) programs requires knowledge of health and safety practices. It also requires the ability to build strong relationships with programs. Child care health consultants (CCHCs) must know what to look for as well as what to do about their findings. Explore how CCHCs can strengthen their observation and consultation skills to help ECE programs to improve health and safety.

Topics for the webinar include:

Building observation skills, including how to prepare for, conduct, and follow-up after an observation
Exploring the Virtual Early Education Center (VEEC) to practice identifying multiple aspects of health and safety in ECE settings
Using the online Child Care Health Consultation: Skill-Building Modules to improve collaboration and communication with ECE providers
