CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Pampered pets, basketball tricks, cadet recognition and more highlight the Lowcountry's version of a March Madness weekend.

Pet Fest

Pets and pet owners can unite at a festival for the four-legged friends.

Charleston's premier pet festival, Pet Fest is Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Palmetto Islands County Park in Mount Pleasant. The day-long event includes exhibits, demonstrations, contests, pets for adoption and more.

Pets can compete in contests such as Best Trick, Owner Pet Look-Alike, and Best Dog Costume. They can also be entered in Lowcountry Dog Magazine's cover model contest.  Dog teams will also demonstrate their skills in agility courses, search and rescue tactics, and leaping to grab a Frisbee from the air.

The festival also includes live music, food and drinks, and activities for children. Admission is $8 at the gate. You can save $3 per person with pet food or supply donation to the Charleston Animal Society. Click here for more details.

Harlem Globetrotters

Basketball's greatest showmen and ambassadors will bring their entertaining show to the North Charleston Coliseum on Saturday.

The Harlem Globetrotters will dazzle fans with their ball-handling skills and family entertainment during games at 2 and 7 p.m. Tickets start at $14.25 and group packages for 10 or more are also available. Click here for tickets and more information.

Meet the Battery

Fans can meet their favorite Charleston Battery players Saturday night at MUSC Health Stadium.

"Meet the Team" night will allow fans on to the field after the match against Penn FC to get autographs and pictures with the team. Fans can even kick the ball around. The first 500 fans through the gates will get a free player poster.

Four-packs of tickets for $40 will be available and the stadium will sell dollar beers during the match. Click here for more details.

Citadel Recognition Day

The community is invited to watch The Citadel freshmen be welcomed into the Corps of Cadets on Saturday.

Recognition Day is the ceremonial graduation from life as a knob to a full cadet. The day includes open barracks for visitors at 8 a.m., followed by a dress parade, medal presentations and the march to Marion Square. Freshmen will begin the march from campus to Marion Square at 3 p.m. The Citadel Regimental Band will perform "The Citadel Story" at 3:20 p.m. The performance includes music, a reading, and historical cadet uniforms.

"The Oath Renewal on The Citadel Green" begins at 3:35 p.m. as freshmen take the final oath to transition into full members of the Corps. For more information Recognition Day and the ceremonies, click here.

Easter Egg Drop

A helicopter will drop about 15,000 eggs at Folk Park in Holly Hill on Saturday.

Girl Flight Inc. and Greater Unity AME Church are teaming up for the early Easter event. The first ever Egg Drop is from 12 to 2 p.m. Children can collect the eggs and exchange them for prizes.

Egg collection will be divided into two age groups. The first eggs will drop at 12:45 p.m. for children ages one to six. The second drop at 1:15 p.m. will be for children ages seven to 12.
