Wilmington pair arrested on gun, drug charges in Carolina Beach
CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) - Two Wilmington men were arrested in Carolina Beach Wednesday afternoon on multiple drug and guns charges.
According to Det. Hettinger with the Carolina Beach Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 700 block of North Lake Park Boulevard following the conclusion of an undercover investigation.
Agents seized 16 grams of meth, 22 grams of marijuana, and two semi-automatic pistols.
Jeffery Thomas Head, 24, and Daniel Glenn Craft, 26, who are both convicted felons, were taken into custody.
Head was booked in jail under a $302,000 bond on the following charges:
- Possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver meth
- Possession of a firearm by a felon (2 counts)
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Simple possession of marijuana
- Possession of marijuana paraphernalia
Craft was given a $300,000 bond on the following charges:
- Possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver meth
- Possession of a firearm by a felon (2 counts)
- Maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance
- Possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver marijuana
- Simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Aggravated possession of marijuana
- Possession of marijuana paraphernalia
According to online records with the NC Department of Public Safety, Head has multiple convictions of breaking and entering in Pender County and was recently released from prison in March 2017.
Craft has multiple breaking and entering convictions in Wayne County and served about eight months in prison in 2016 for possession of a firearm by a felon. He was released from prison in October 2017 after severing about seven months fora parole violation.
