When it comes to his nascent superhero career, it appears as if Peter Parker still has a lot left to learn from Tony Stark. Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo have confirmed that the mentor-mentee relationship between Iron Man and Spider-Man will continue to be explored in the superhero ensemble film.

In a set interview with Screen Rant, the directors spoke of Tony Stark's role in Infinity War, coming off his story in both Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man Homecoming. "He still has this connection with Spider-Man that he’s established," Anthony said. "And that evolves. They basically have a unique mentor-mentee relationship that continues to evolve as they move into this film."

The relationship between Tony Stark and Peter Parker was first established in Civil War, where Tony recruited the young superhero aboard his team of Avengers to help capture a rogue Captain America. Then, it continued to evolve in Homecoming, where Peter proved himself to be the hero Tony always wanted him to be.

Now, as the two superheroes head into Avengers: Infinity War, Peter Parker will officially join the roster of the Avengers, with Stark's Iron Spider suit in tow. This relationship will continue to grow, when mentor and mentee are blasted off into space to fight side-by-side against the might of the Mad Titan, Thanos.
