Funds Available for Parish Building Repairs Due to Hurricanes Florence and Michael

In the months following Hurricanes Florence and Michael, many parishes around the diocese submitted insurance claims in order to evaluate the damage of their buildings. Some parishes not only had costly damage, but frustratingly high deductibles.

Attached here is a document including guidelines for requesting hurricane relief funds along with a cover letter from Bishop Skirving.

If your parish is in need of financial assistance, you are encouraged to submit a request, but be sure to do so in a timely manner, as the deadline is April 30th . Materials are to be submitted to LaTonya Smith via email.

Beach Towel Camp at St. Peter's by-the-Sea

Beach Towel Ministry is a youth oriented ministry that specializes in housing repair and refurbishment for the elderly, physically challenged, and economically disadvantaged. Teams of youth and qualified adults spread the Good News of the Gospel by participating in work projects, such as building handicap access ramps, painting, roofing, weatherproofing, and other needed housing repairs. As Jesus wrapped a towel around his waist and washed his disciples feet, he came not to be served but to serve. Like Jesus we also come to serve others.

Interactive Deanery Map

As a reference, we have created a map on Google Maps listing all worshiping communities in our diocese. They are also color coded according to deanery. If you download the Google Maps app on your phone, you can open the map there in addition to opening it in your browser.

Not only is this a quick way to see which parishes are a part of what deanery, but it also allows you to get directions to each parish, should you need them. Click here to access the interactive deanery map.
