Cristiano Ronaldo is right when he calls for some Benzema appreciation

LaLiga - Real Madrid 4-0 AlavesHe scored and assisted Ronaldo and Bale

If another chapter is added to Gay Talese's book 'The Silent Season of a Hero' then it should study Karim Benzema, who is quiet when things are going well and when things are going badly.

Against Alaves on Saturday afternoon there were highs and lows for the French striker.

He started the match by fluffing a good one-versus-one chance, before missing another even though he was - to his relief - offside.

But then he assisted Cristiano Ronaldo in spectacular fashion with a backheel, after which the Portuguese forward called for the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu to show more appreciation for what the No.9 brings to the table.

Benzema then set up Bale for the second of the afternoon and scored from the penalty spot too.

He's not always perfect, but he deserves to be praised when credit is due.
