The Roehill Springs Gin No 5 Story

As with many gin distillers, Duncan Morrison and his wife Shirley enjoyed a nice gin together.  After a few years of searching for their perfect gin, Duncan suddenly had a light- bulb moment – having worked as a Stillman in a whisky distillery for 12 years, he had the knowledge and experience to create their own perfect gin!  So he treated himself to a small copper pot still for Christmas and the journey began.

The couple is very fortunate in having their own natural spring water with which to distil the gin. A  spring rises on land known as Roehill, so Roehill Springs was the perfect name.

After trialling numerous test batches, recipe number 5 came out as the favourite and they decided to simply call it, Gin No 5.

Roehill Springs Gin No. 5 is an ultra-small batch, premium gin which is distilled, bottled, labelled and wax-sealed completely on-site using only the finest traditional and locally-foraged botanicals and their own natural spring water.  Having their own natural spring water is a huge asset with regard to provenance as well as the quality and taste of the gin.

  The Scottish Gin Society verdict

If you love a classic G&T we urge you to try this wonderful Scottish Gin. Plenty of piney juniper with a delicate floral kick, but we added a slice of fresh orange and this really brought out the bright citrus kick. Very refreshing.
