More fun at Christmas in September at The Abbey (before the COVID- 19 pandemic)

The Abbey has announced that it is going ahead with its annual Christmas in September toy drive during this virus-plagued year  — on a virtual basis.

The  15th annual Christmas in September toy drive will be held from Sept. 21 to  Sept. 27 to solicit toys for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

“Finding a safe and convenient way to donate toys to the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is extremely important to The Abbey.” said David Cooley, CEO and founder of the Abbey Food & Bar.  “For 15 years, Christmas in September has allowed our community to help fill the CHLA toy chest, making sure that every child at the hospital gets a toy.  When Children’s Hospital Los Angeles informed us toy donations have decreased because of the pandemic, we wanted to do our part more than ever to help replenish their inventory.  While COVID-19 has impacted our ability to carry on our tradition in person, we hope everyone will join us online and keep the spirit of giving alive virtually.”

“We’re incredibly grateful to The Abbey and its supporters for their commitment to donating toys to CHLA’s pediatric patients,” says Rosby Lamm, manager of volunteer resources and soy program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

The weeklong event will be hosted via The Abbey’s website and social media channels.  Donations made through The Abbey’s online wish-list will be shipped directly to the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.  Guests can also drop off an unwrapped infant toy or an age appropriate gift found on The Abbey’s Christmas in September online registry at The Abbey during normal operating hours from Sept. 21 to Sept. 27. The Abbey Food and Bar is located at 692 N. Robertson Blvd., south of Santa Monica Boulevard.
