Standard 2018 Mazda CX-5 Features
The heart of the Mazda CX-5 crossover is a fuel-efficient 187-hp SKYACTIV®-G 2.5L DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine with Cylinder Deactivation engine that offers an EPA-estimated 31 mpg on the highway. Cylinder Deactivation allows the engine the ability to shut down the two outside cylinders at cruising speeds to maximize efficiency – Mazda is the only automobile manufacturer with a 4-cylinder engine that is equipped with Cylinder Deactivation.


When it comes to safety, Mazda ups the ante with standard safety features that come standard on all models, features that were previously only available on Touring and Grand Touring models. All 3 trim levels now come standard with Blind Spot Monitoring & Rear Cross-Traffic Alert to help prevent collisions on highways like Route 17, I-80, the Turnpike and the Parkway.
