Man arrested after shooting at hotel near Crabtree Valley Mall

A man and a woman were the victims Wednesday night of a shooting at a north Raleigh hotel.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police arrested a man Thursday and charged him in connection to a shooting at a north Raleigh hotel.

Police were called to the Embassy Suites at 4700 Creedmoor Road, near Crabtree Valley Mall, just before 10:30 p.m.

They found David Andrew Watkins, 24, with a serious injury. He was taken to WakeMed, and he was expected to survive, police said.

Police on Thursday arrested Ezekiel Jennings Brown, 46, and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Brown, of 18 Raleigh Court in Dallas, Ga., was arrested at Clouds Brewery off Raleigh's Glenwood Avenue.
