5. and the disdain of many.
6. It all began with the arrival of an angel.
7. The angel of Peace
8. Who kneeling, bent his forehead to the ground, and taught them to pray;
9. They were Jacinta, Francisco and Lucy
10. Three shepherd children of Cova da Iría
11. who on May 13 were visited by a Lady
12. One draped in white, more radiant than the sun
13. “Do not fear, I will not hurt you”
14. “Where are you from”, Lucy asked.
15. I come from Heaven.
16. She was the Virgin Mary
17. The Virgin asked them to pray insistently:
18. If you want to fill the world with peace and joy;
19. Pray, pray a great deal
20. And pray the Rosary every day.
21. The Virgin asked them to be her solace
22. And in exchange for their prayer,
23. she promised to take them to Heaven
24. They did so accordingly
25. and for all those who did not believe
26. they suffered greatly in loneliness.
27. They were pressured, mistreated and incarcerated
28. so that they would confess that it was all a fabrication
29. Accused of lying,
30. they asked the Virgin for a sign
31. and in the month of October
32. a great miracle would take place:
33. Seventy thousand people watched the sun whirl and turn.
34. This is the story of three great souls
35. who did not know of schooling
36. but kept secrets
37. Three secrets entrusted to them by a Lady
38. when she came down from Heaven one 13 th of May.
39. Since then, their fame grew
40. and today, 100 years later, they are remembered
41. by millions of people who visit this place
42. a holy place filled with hope
43. Fatima, a place with a clear message:
44. The same message one day humbly accepted by the Virgin
45. When, without any condition whatsoever, she said
46. “Let it be done to me according to your word”
