Scott Rogowsky, the host of the popular mobile game HQ Trivia, posted an emotional message for users on Sunday.

Rogowsky announced the death of his friend Colin Kroll, HQ Trivia CEO and co-founder, and also co-founder of Vine, who was found dead after an apparent drug overdose on Saturday night.

"It is with a heavy heart I must share some tragic news that has befallen the HQ family," Rogowsky said.

"Colin, or C.K. as we called him, was a true visionary who changed the game twice — first with Vine and then with this very app that you're seeing and hearing me through right now."

Rogowsky went on to say that Kroll, 35, was a good friend and colleague, and "a good person of compassion and generosity."

To honor Kroll's memory HQ Trivia did not air its regularly scheduled $25,000 show. (It will return at 9:00 p.m. ET on Monday.) In lieu of the missed show, HQ Trivia will be donating the $25,000 to the Humane Society in Colin's honor.
