St. Cloud man charged with sex trafficking following task force arrest

ST. CLOUD — A St. Cloud man who was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of sex trafficking and prostitution has been charged in Stearns County District Court, according to a criminal complaint.

Iyontay Lestish Williams, 36, was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday and faces one felony charge of engaging in sex trafficking of an individual and one felony charge of receiving profits from prostitution. The arrest was the result of a monthlong investigation by the Central Minnesota Human Trafficking Task Force.

The complaint states a woman contacted the task force in October to disclose her experience as a victim of prostitution. 

The complaint outlined how Williams allegedly directed the woman to engage in sex acts for money on multiple occasions and told her how she would have to interact with buyers.

The charges carry a combined maximum sentence of 40 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
