When is Packet Pick-Up?
During The Cowtown Health & Fitness Expo presented by Shipt
Friday, Feb. 22nd 11:30AM – 7:00PM
and
Saturday, Feb. 23rd 6:00AM – 5:00PM
SATURDAY RUNNERS...
may pick up your packet starting Friday. If you are unable to make it Friday to pick up your packet you may obtain it Saturday, Feb. 23 2019 no later than 45 minutes prior to the start of your race (doors open at 6 am). We do not recommend this option due to the amount of runners and spectators that will be traveling in the morning of the race. You can also have a friend or family member pick up your race packet for you. They will need your name, DOB, race your are registered for, and bib number. Bib assignments are emailed out during race week. all people picking up packets must have their driver's license with them.

SUNDAY RUNNERS...
may pick up your packet Friday, or Saturday. You can also have a friend or family member pick up your race packet for you. They will need your name, DOB, race you’re registered for and bib number. Bib assignments are emailed out during race week, runner packets are NOT AVAILABLE on Sunday so please make arrangements for a friend or family member pick up your race packet for you if you are not able to.  All people picking up packets must have their Driver’s License with them.

Hydrating for success with nuun
At different levels of stress and effort your muscles require different levels of oxygen and fuel, which proper hydration can provide.
 
Below are some general best-practice guidelines for optimizing your hydration plan during training:
Workouts under 90 minutes…
require hydration replenishment with electrolyte-rich fluids
Workouts over 90 minutes…
Carbohydrates play a key role in your hydration for optimal fluid transfer
During your workout…
Aim to consume 16-24 oz. of electrolyte-rich fluid per hour.
Watch for the fluid stations all along the Cowtown route, and look for the blue nuun cups!

Fuel your run with GU
For Sunday’s races, assorted flavors of GU will be provided at the following mile markers: 8.5, 13, 17.5, 20, 23, 27, 29.
Did you know that the Cowtown Marathon is a Council for Responsible Sport Silver Certified event? This year we are shooting to make that a Gold Certification and we need your help. See our website (input link to sustainability page) for some of the ways you can help us this year.  
Help the Cowtown with its Green Initiatives!
A few easy ways to help are:

  • Bring your used Shoe and E-Waste (cell phones and tables/iPads) to the Health and Wellness expo for recycling
  • Help us lower our carbon footprint by using our bike valet or riding the new TEXrail to downtown Fort Worth
  • Put your trash in the proper place. We will have composting, recycling, and trash at each disposal location at the expo and each race
