The adult moths of this species have forewings that are brown, each with an irregular pale-yellow border sometimes containing dark dots.

The hindwings are plain brown or yellow. The wingspan is about 1 cm.

The species is found across south-east Asia, including:

  • Hong Kong,
  • India,
  • Japan,
  • Sri Lanka,
  • Taiwan,
  • Thailand,

    as well as in Australia in

  • Northern Territory.
