When Mera was introduced in the 1960s, she quickly became one half of an iconic comic book marriage. When DC Comics rebooted its universe with New 52, that marriage ended. Kelly Sue DeConnick will now restore it in her final issue of Aquaman.

DeConnick recently announced that she would be departing from DC in November, concluding her current Aquaman run with issue #65. The writer explained that she had already stayed on longer than she had planned owing to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the need for more time to complete current storylines. She added, "Maybe this is a good place to say I have come to love Arthur and Mera and their family in Amnesty Bay over the last year."

Solicitation for the upcoming issue teases that every facet of DeConnick's run will come to a head. The information can be found below.
