Tom Hiddleston is Reportedly NOT the Lead Star in Disney's Loki Series

Disney's advertising for the upcoming Disney+ streaming service has been hit and miss for fans. On one hand, it's nice to know that a big budget Star Wars live-action series will be a part of the content. Then again, you also have the company spoiling outcomes for Avengers: Endgame as a solo series for Loki was announced along with a show that stars Vision and Scarlet Witch.

If that wasn't enough to make you pull your hair, a rumor from The Hashtag Show's Charles Murphy claims that Tom Hiddleston won't even be playing the role, saying that he will narrate the series while a younger actor plays the God of Mischief. That is a whole lot of nope right there and could make plenty of fans angry.

Admittedly, this isn't the worst premise in the world as anyone who has read Kieron Gillen's stellar Journey Into Mystery series knows that a narrative starring a younger Loki can be really engaging. Murphy also points out that Hiddleston can still appear in various parts of the series, this being a life story of sorts for the brother of Thor.

Fans are understandably protective of the character since Hiddleston added so much life to Loki but the actor won't be young forever. It wouldn't hurt to focus on a younger version of the villain and see why he is so angry with his brother. Plus, we'll finally get to see that snake story from Thor: Ragnarok if this rumor is true.

No release date for the Loki series has been announced.
