Dr. Collectors’ Latest Vintage Remake Mixes Military with Kimonos

“It’s alive!” That’s what someone probably screamed at the Dr. Collectors sewing/operating table as they finished the last stitch of their repurposed military kimonos.

The Doctor is at it again, taking apart classic military vintage pieces and putting them back together in Frankenstein-esque fashion to make a couple kimonos and as well as a gi. Liners and M-65 jackets have been wantonly torn apart and re-attached, using various camo patterns as accents and pockets. Though information is scarce, it’s obvious that each piece is one-of-a-kind.

For an anachronistic garment that combines Western militaria with historical Japanese tailoring, look no further than the Trading Post’s Down Kimono, Parka Kimono, and Fatigue Gi.
