A SKIPTON based children’s charity is looking for couples to take part in its very own ‘Strictly’ dance competition.

‘Strictly Skipton’ will see six couples have weekly dance lessons with Howard Bullock, of the town’s Fire House Dance Studios, culminating in a final dance off on Mother’s Day at The Rendezvous Hotel.

Louise Rhodes, of the Principle Trust Children’s Charity, said Craven people might not be able to enter the BBC Strictly, which this year saw Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton lift the glitterball trophy, but they could enter the Skipton version - while raising money for the charity, which sends vulnerable children and their families on respite breaks. The chosen six couples will be taught the Waltz, Jive, Charleston, Tango, Rumba, and Paso Doble, the same as in the hugely popular BBC series.

Prospective couples need to apply by January 25. Tickets will also be available to be part of the audience. To find out more, contact louise.rhodes@theprincipletrust.co.uk or telephone 01756 704782.
